Standard hourly rate
- {Project base fee} + {completion time} = Quote. We keep accurate tracking time spent on your project and a time report (timesheet) is available at your request.
Overtime rate
- When evening, weekend or public holiday work is requested*

WHAT QUALIFIES AS OVERTIME WORK?
– Work that is briefed in after 5:00pm without prior expectation for the same or next day.
– Large volume work that is briefed in on a Friday for a Monday deadline
– Large volume URGENT work that cannot be completed solely during business hours to meet the deadline.
Retainer pricing
Pay for a dedicated resource for your projects over an extended period of time.
This is beneficial for clients who need a reliable resource to build a long term relationship with.
Clients on retainer pay the following discounted hourly rates based on the retainer period:
2 - 3 MONTHS
- For a bulk purchase of time for key agency resources on work that is certain to be required throughout the retainer period.
Clients on a 2-3 months retainer pay a reduced hourly rate of R500/hour (after calculating the project or base fee) for their “out-of-scope” work, that they hadn’t anticipated at the beginning of the planning cycle.
4 - 7 MONTHS
- For a bulk purchase of time for key agency resources on work that is certain to be required throughout the retainer period.
Clients on a 4-7 months retainer pay a reduced hourly rate of R450/hour (after calculating the project or base fee) for their “out-of-scope” work, that they hadn’t anticipated at the beginning of the planning cycle.
8 - 12 MONTHS
- For a bulk purchase of time for key agency resources on work that is certain to be required throughout the retainer period.
Clients on a 8-12 months retainer pay a reduced hourly rate of R400/hour (after calculating the project or base fee) for their “out-of-scope” work, that they hadn’t anticipated at the beginning of the planning cycle.
Retainers
A retainer is an agreement between a client and our company to work together for a longer period of time on more than just one project. It reserves an amount of our studio’s time at a set rate.
Our retainers are calculated against a scope of work prepared by the client. We will prepare a resource plan and quote based on the estimated number of hours each team member will need per month in order to deliver the work required. A retainer fee can be paid in advance or the recurring monthly payments made by the client to assure our services will be available to them for an extended amount of time.
Simply put, the process is as follows:
1. Map out the scope of work and quote a monthly fee
2. Agency allocates and bills for hours agreed to per month
3. Agency bills for all out-of-scope work
Please note: hours don’t carry over from one month to the next.

Why website maintenance ?
Most websites make use of multiple third party applications and software to function and process data, similar to the apps on your smart phone. These applications need to be updated regularly in order for them to function as intended and protect your data. Frequent updates on your website are required due to constant changes to the source code of these apps made by their respective developers. Third party apps and plug-ins allow your website to look and perform properly and serve the function of securing, monitoring, and processing your data.
Code changes all the time.
Your website is an ever evolving, ever changing AI entity. From the code used by your hosting service provider, your linked database, framework code, to your plug-ins; these are all updated daily by their respective developers and it is important for you to do the same on your side.
Out of date plug-ins or code can make your site vulnerable as this creates gateway for hackers or bots to gain access to your website’s source code and do what they do best. This is why regular updates and maintenance is essential to securing and optimising your website.
Hackers (and bots) will hack.
All websites are attacked by malicious software (and people) 1000s of times per day. Some of these attacks may be purely to harvest data but some may be much worse, with often stressful and costly consequences.
Depending on the type and severity of the attack, your hosting provider may temporarily suspend your website until your developer removes the malicious code, or reinstates the entire website with a backup. In some cases, an entire rebuild may be required.
Unfortunately, at this stage, your website code would be compromised and even more vulnerable to repeat attacks unless appropriate steps and procedures are implemented, all of which takes time and costs money.
Should your website be compromised multiple times your hosting provider may completely suspend your website as your flawed website security may also pose a threat to their entire server.
What should you do when your website goes down or gets compromised.
- Always contact your hosting provider first. Your website may be down due to internet or server related issues.
- Your hosting provider will inform you of whether the problem lies with them or is related to your website.
- If related to your website please forward the relevant information to web-support@heitadaar.co.za so we can investigate the issue.
- Depending on severity of the issue Heita Daar may charge a fee to rectify the problem, minor issues will be resolved at no cost.
- Should it be required that a backup version of your website be reinstated, our standard hourly rate will apply to complete this process.
- Reinstating a backup version of your website may take up to 2 hours or longer.
Disclaimer:
Although we do everything possible to secure and maintain your website, there are multiple external factors at play when it comes to website security.
Heita Daar accepts no responsibility should your website be compromised, we are here to help resolve the issue at hand, put measures in place to prevent future problems and to offer advice. Please note that using third party security plug-ins and doing regular maintenance are purely preventative security measures, and by no means a guarantee that your website will not be attacked or compromised. These measures simply reduce the risks.
Tips:
Remember to check with your hosting provider if your Automated Backups are activated – this should be weekly or at monthly intervals of 4.
Free plug-ins offers only a basic level of security and are not always up to date. Premium paid for plug-ins greatly reduce the risks of possible attacks, as they are up to date with current threats and offer up-to-date 24/7 monitoring and protection.
